Nice choice of bird Paco!  Mesh looks brilliant.  Smoothing looks liquid.

A 7C would be the only propliner I'd ever fly! So graceful, so powerful, so beautifully named!

If you need any reference material, I have a tonne from doing my "First Flight" video.

I loaned a copy of the stairs to Fr. Bill. You can have a copy too if you like.

One of our customers ponied up the dollars for a ride on the "Aluminum Overcast" B17:

One of my neighbors flew the Seven Seas "back in the day."  He said they never, ever made it from the east coast of the U. S. to the west coast without making an unscheduled oil stop.   We cannot talk to him about those turbo-compounded Wrights because the air turns the same shade of blue as all that oil smoke on engine start.

But when all four were running, he said it was hands down the best propliner of all time.

Very very very nice.. congradulations.. I still remember flying in one in the late 70's.  In fact the Aircraft was part of the Mexican Airforce and was aquiered from Pan American.  The flight was from Guatemala to Mexico City with a fuel stop at Tapachula.

I stil;l remember a Guatemalan Military Cadet standing infront of the engines holding a huge fire estinguisher as the engines started up.  It was an incredible flight finally making it back home and parking at the presidential hangar.

Thank you for sharing.

Hey guys, thank you for your kind words and your offers! I wish I'd had the time to do something more on this project, but I've been out travelling for two weeks now. I just manaed to work a little on the nacells/wing transitions (still to be refined, I'll post some pics when done).

I didn't have the oportunity to fly in one of these (in fact, the closest I've been to flying in a propliner was a Convair 440 turboprop ages ago), but I remember when I was a child, we used to go to Manises airport (LEVC); at that time there was a restaurant with a terrace over the parking area where we went every now and then, just for the fun of watching at those venerable aircrafts. It's since then that I'm in deep love for propliners.

Hey Paco,

From what I see this DC-7C will be absolutely fabulous.  Cool  I can't wait for this one to appear. Holland has quite a history with these beauties (KLM, Martin's Air Charter / Martinair Holland, Schreiner Airways) operated these for years.

Wouldn't it be great to fly formation with the DC-7C, Jens' DC-4, DC-6, Canadairs North Star and C-5, and Jonbouy's Carvair?

Cheers,
Maarten

Man, that is the best fillet work I have seen in ages.  That rudder area and the scoop down the back of the cowling, and the cowling to wing fillet area are superb!

Nice work, oh great prop guru!
